URGENT: Donors Needed to Rebuild Blood SupplyJanuary 17, 2019
CALLING ALL DONORS!
The month of January is one of the most difficult times of year to collect enough blood to meet the needs of communities. Cold and snowy weather can lead to the cancellation of blood drives and donors often become too sick to donate due to cold and flu season. We need everyone to come together to make sure our communities have what they need.
Blood supplies in our local communities and communities across the country are hurting and your help is needed more than ever right now. All blood types are needed, however there's always a special need for type O blood (both positive and negative).
It's the blood already on the shelves that helps in an emergency. That's why it's crucial for Vitalant to maintain a safe and ready supply at all times. It takes about 24 to 36 hours to process, test and distribute each blood donation before it is delivered to hospitals.
We need your help to rebuild our community’s blood supply back to safe levels!
PLUS: As a thank you, presenting donors in January are entered to win an outdoor package!
