PULLMAN, Wash. - Danú, one of Ireland’s leading traditional ensembles, will perform its “St. Patrick’s Day Celebration” at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, in Daggy Hall’s Jones Theatre at Washington State University.

Danú (http://www.danu.net/) has won numerous awards from the BBC and Irish Music Magazine, recorded eight critically acclaimed albums and performed around the globe. Members from counties Waterford, Cork, Dublin and Donegal play ancient and new music on flute, tin whistle, fiddle, button accordion and bouzouki, with English and Irish vocals. In 2014 she became the youngest person to win Ireland’s prestigious Corn Uí Riada competition for sean-nós ("old style") singing. See a video at https://vimeo.com/197786207
