Hello my name is Chris Kreid a licensed massage therapist and I am currently a sole proprietor. The business name I chose is Owaste Massage Therapy. Owášte is the original spelling and is pronounced Oh-wah-sh-tey. Owaste means to feel good or means good healing. When coming up with my business name a lot of my close friends felt like it would be something neat to use something from my heritage as a business name. Owaste to me is something a bit more than just a name. It means the roots of healing because when we as massage therapists work we don’t do the healing. Actually, healing comes from our own body systems and massage may help initiate that healing process by a number of things such as creating a release of wellbeing. This business will be built around massage therapy. I currently have had my massage license for 3 years. 1st year I worked for the school doing their original massage modality work. 2nd year I had to take care of family while holding a job and didn’t have much confidence in my massage skills. I had also attended an online school learning alternative medicine. 3rd year my family had passed away and now I am on working on my 4th year. This year I had attended a AMTA massage convention in Lewiston Idaho. There I had learned about Structural Integration massage and had pursued all the classes afterwards. This convention had also let me down because it was when I learned that not all massage schools are equal. Most massage school teach antique massage work. The work I do now is more updated and I am more confident in my scope of practice. About May I had star
