    Job Description
    The Best Western Plus University Inn is looking for a Supervisor in our Convention Center. 
    Schedule will vary depending on events occurring so a flexible schedule is needed.

    Essential Functions:
    ● Oversees and is hands-on during the setup and teardown of banquet/meeting
    rooms i.e.: moving/placing tables, chairs, tableware, A/V equipment (screens,
    projectors, microphones, etc..) and additional fixtures (staging, bars, etc..)
    ● Able to lift, at times, 50 pounds or more and be on feet for most of the day
    ● Willing to work a varied schedule and pick up shifts on short notice as needed
    ● Operates event bars; mixing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages,
    interacting with guests, and handling cash and credit payment
    ● Inspects convention center rooms for quality and consistency ensuring all
    expectations are ready to be met prior to guest arrival
    ● Works closely with main event contacts during events to help in any way needed
    ● Interacts with all hotel and event guests in a friendly and professional manner
    ● Follows proper event service procedures for a variety of meal styles i.e.: plated
    banquets, buffets, and limited menus (at times performing cashier duties)
    ● Leads the Events Team during room sets, event service, and cleanup, ensuring
    standards are being met, if not exceeded, and guests are well taken care of
    ● Takes direction from the Convention Center Manager and Assistant Manager as
    well as the Director of Catering and Conference Services and General Manager
    ● Acquires a thorough understanding of menu items from event to event,
    communicating heavily with the kitchen staff/banquet chef's
    ● Acts as a liaison between the kitchen and the front of house event servers to
    ensure questions/information is not being duplicated as well as to ensure all
    servers are capable of answering any guest questions that may arise
    ● Leads the Events Team during downtime, keeping the staff busy and on task
    ● Helps to maintain overall cleanliness of banquet and meeting facilities
    ● Assists Conv. Center Management with tasks pertaining to the organization, tracking, and
    maintaining of all CC inventory and supplies
    ● Takes appropriate steps to alert management of any issues or incidents i.e.:
    broken/missing/damaged equipment, shortage of supplies, lost and found items,
    displeased employees and/or guests
    ● Maintains a positive, energetic, and helpful attitude toward fellow employees and
    Guests, assisting in other departments as needed

    Must always put the guests' needs first and strive to go above and beyond
    ● Must have a flexible schedule and ability to work any shift, including holidays
    ● Must be willing to work long hours as needed, especially during peak season's
    ● Full adherence to uniform and hygiene requirements
    ○ i.e: Shoes in good repair, clean, and polished. Crisp, clean, professional
    clothing. Women's hair pulled back and away from face and shoulders at
    all times. Men's hair cut and worn above the collar, facial hair neat and trim
    ● Punctual and professional at all times
    ● Follow all procedures and guidelines stated in the Team Member manual
    ● Promote a safe work environment and positive guest experience
