    Job Description
    Position description:
    Buy Local Moscow Director is a part-time role, and works with the 6 to 12-person Steering Committee, our
    membership of more than 65 local businesses, and community partners. The role is focused on the key areas of
    administrative and logistical support and programming execution to the benefit of membership and community in
    ways that are in-line with the mission of Buy Local Moscow.
    The role of BLM Director may include the following components:
    • Ensure success and continuation of annual programs: Business Feature Radio ads, Membership Networking
    Social, Buy Local at the Latah County Fair, Annual Membership Meeting (Steering Committee representation
    voting), Small Business Saturday, Eat Local Month
    • Work with Steering Committee to create new programs that further the mission and purpose of Buy Local
    Moscow such as mentoring, member benefits, and outreach
    • Prepare and distribute news releases to local media for events, programs and promotions
    • Work with Subcommittees to coordinate volunteers to ensure success of events and programs
    Community Engagement
    • Serve as the main point of contact with Buy Local members, friends of Buy Local and community partners
    • Act as representative of Buy Local in the community by attending other group meetings and ad hoc meetings
    related to Buy Local Moscow and its programs
    • Work with volunteer coalition of community partner organizations for September Eat Local Month
    • Facilitate monthly Steering Committee meetings, any Subcommittee meetings, and needed follow up
    • Act as point of contact and manage information distribution and communication to Steering Committee,
    members and friends of BLM
    • Work with Secretary and Steering Committee to review and make any needed updates to the website
    • Inform and coordinate with membership regarding joining and renewal dues annually
    • Work with Treasurer to update and maintain BLM membership tracking document for dues, program
    participation fees and member contact information
    • Write and distribute member newsletters (monthly or quarterly), other programing opportunities and event
    invitations with the online email communication platform (currently Vertical Response)
    • Coordinate social media volunteer, to monitor and contribute to Facebook and other social media platforms
    • Identify sources of grant funding and complete grant applications
    The coordinator will serve on contract, not as an employee. Contract will be reviewed annually, any changes or
    amendments to the contract or position description will be made by Steering Committee vote. This part-time position
    requires an average of 25-35 hours monthly. Pay is dependent upon experience, with a base $175 monthly stipend.
