    Job Description
    The Moscow Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Center is seeking a friendly, organized, and outgoing person to fill a full-time Events and Communications Coordinator position (40 hours/week). The Events and Communications Coordinator is responsible for planning, developing and implementing Moscow Chamber of Commerce events, which provide value to our members as well as non-dues revenue to the budget. Mon-Fri from 8:00am - 5:00pm with various additional after hours.
    Essential Job Functions:
    • Develop, manages and monitors events.
    • Plan and executes all on-site and off-site chamber meetings and events.
    • Asses the event objectives and determine the most cost-effective means to deliver results.
    • Analyze event schedule and develop short and long-term strategies for resources and communication.
    • Establish vendor relationships and pricing for all aspects of event planning.
    • Benchmark with other Chambers and event organizations to learn and share best practices.
    • Keep abreast of emerging trends and technologies.
    • Develop and maintain policies for booking and coordinating meetings and events.
    • Work with all areas of the Chamber to market events with a focus on increasing participation and Chamber awareness using various vehicles.
    • Audit event invoices.
    • Acts as authority and role model on event management issues.
    • Proactively identify improvement opportunities and solutions.
    • Represent the Chamber at community and business functions.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    Knowledge, skills and abilities:
    • Experience working with committees, including planning meetings, preparation of agendas and recording minutes.
    • Demonstrated success in coordinating and managing events and meetings.
    • Must possess superior interpersonal abilities with an ability to get along with diverse personalities, tactful, mature, flexible.
    • Must be a team player and work well with other staff and members.
    • Must be able to adjust to constantly changing circumstances and priorities and be able to re-adjust priorities quickly.
    • Must be able to set goals and meet deadlines.
    • Must have the ability to work with company representatives; maintain strict confidentiality in business dealings; and present a positive image to members and the public.
    • Experienced in Microsoft Office (Outlook), Adobe, and Google programs such as Google Calendar and Google Drive.
    • 1-3 year’s experience in event planning, contract negotiations, and budget planning.
    • Must possess a valid Driver’s License
    • Must be able to perform the physical demands which include lifting and moving up to 25 pounds.
    • Must be a self-starter and have the ability to handle a number of tasks simultaneously.
    • Preferred qualifications: Experience using Handbid (or fundraising software program), Chamber Master, Word Press and Canva.
