Community members are invited to bring their broken objects and a can-do spirit to the Moscow Public Library’s second Repair Café at the Latah County Fairgrounds in the Middle Room. Volunteer experts will share their repair skills with clothing and textiles, furniture and upholstery, sock darning, book mending, small household appliances, and knife and scissor sharpening. There will also be a “gluing station” with a variety of glues. There is no guarantee that items will be properly repaired. Attendees bring items at their own risk.
The Repair Café movement started in the Netherlands in 2009 with the goals of reducing waste, teaching participants practical repair skills, and fostering a new appreciation for old possessions.
Funding for this program is provided by the Friends of the Moscow Library. Light refreshments will be provided. This free and fascinating library program is open to the public.
