The Moscow Farmers Market is a popular Moscow tradition that was established in 1976. The Saturday morning event celebrates local farmers, artists, craftspeople and musicians by providing them with an opportunity to interact directly with the community and its visitors. Highlights include fresh produce, meat, delicious homemade baked goods, healthy nursery plants, beautiful flowers and quality handmade crafts.
The Moscow Farmers Market takes place on Main Street and in Friendship Square in downtown Moscow. It is held each Saturday, May through October, from 8:00am to 1:00pm. Local musicians perform from 9:30am to 1:00pm.
The programming for this week's Farmer's Market is as follows:
Bicycle Benefits: The Moscow Farmers Market now offers a Bicycle Benefits incentive. Shoppers may purchase a Bicycle Benefit sticker for $5 at the Information Tent. Bike to the Market each week to receive an incentive. Show the sticker on your helmet to City Staff at the Information Tent and earn a $2 wooden token. Tokens may be used to purchase from Market Vendors.
Live Performances. The Moscow Farmers Market hosts nearly four dozen scheduled concerts in Friendship Square each year, and features many talented local entertainers. The featured entertainment this Saturday is:
(9:00 – 10:00 a.m.) Mystic Rhythms
(10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.) Mother Yeti
City of Moscow Commissions. Citizen based City Commissions will be featured at the Market throughout the season to share information on any special programs. This week will feature the Human Rights Commission.
Bell Brigade. Bell Brigade provides an opportunity for local youth groups, clubs, and organizations to ring the opening and closing market bells. Groups performing this community service are eligible to host an information tent at the market the day they participate in the Bell Brigade. For more information or to sign up for Bell Brigade, contact the Community Events Division at 208-883-7233 or email@example.com.
Safe Routes to School. Safe Routes to School will be in Friendship Square with the table top game, “What do I need for my ride?”, where kids will pick which items are needed for a fun, safe ride in different conditions.
The Moscow Farmers Market loves all furry companions, but only Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) service animals are permitted in the main thoroughfare with their owners. Emotional support animals are not covered by the ADA and are not permitted in the main thoroughfare with their owners. For health and safety reasons, we ask that all pets and non-ADA service animals limit their visit to the Market and if need be may utilize the pet-friendly sidewalks adjacent to Main Street and Fifth Street.
The Moscow Farmers Market is a nicotine-free event. No vaping, tobacco chewing, or traditional smoking is permitted.
